Meet Kassie

I know how disorienting it can feel when life changes and you no longer recognize yourself in quite the same way.

My own experience with a traumatic brain injury changed how I understood healing, identity and strength. It also taught me the value of having someone beside you who listens without judgment and doesn’t rush you toward an answer.

As a facilitator, I bring that understanding into every part of my work. You don’t need to have the perfect words, know exactly what you’re looking for or pretend that everything is okay. We begin wherever you are—and move forward with honesty, curiosity and care.

Licensed Natural Medicine Facilitator | Former Division I Athlete | TBI Survivor

The experience that shaped me

In May 2020, my life changed in an instant.

A serious accident left me navigating a traumatic brain injury and an unfamiliar version of myself. The effects extended far beyond physical recovery. I experienced changes in my emotions, nervous system, relationships and ability to move through everyday life in the ways I once had.

Recovery was not a straight line. It required patience, curiosity and a willingness to reconsider what strength actually meant.

Over time, I learned that healing is not always about returning to who we were before. Sometimes it asks us to understand who we are becoming.

My own experience taught me how important it is to feel believed, supported and respected—especially when the challenges someone is experiencing may not be visible to others. That understanding now influences how I show up for every person I support.

From Athlete to Facilitator

Before my injury, much of my identity was shaped by athletics. As a former Division I athlete, I understood discipline, determination and the instinct to push through discomfort.

My recovery required something different.

It asked me to slow down. To listen to my body. To recognize when perseverance was helpful—and when it was preventing me from acknowledging what I truly needed.

That shift transformed the way I understand resilience. Strength is not always found in pushing harder. Sometimes it is found in softening, asking for support and allowing ourselves to experience what has been waiting beneath the surface.

Today, I bring both perspectives into my work: the structure and commitment of an athlete, alongside the patience, gentleness and nervous-system awareness I learned through recovery.

Who I Feel Called to Support

I feel especially connected to individuals who are navigating:

  • TBI or persistent concussion-related challenges

  • Athletic transitions or the loss of an athletic identity

  • Anxiety, depression or emotional changes following a TBI

  • Women’s health and the relationship between hormonal changes, mood and brain health

  • Grief, uncertainty or periods of profound transition

  • A desire to reconnect with themselves more honestly

  • Personal growth that feels difficult to access through familiar approaches

You do not need to share my story for us to work well together. What matters is that you feel respected, comfortable and able to show up as yourself.

Beyond the Credentials

I am a wife, a dog mom, a former athlete, a photographer and someone who deeply values meaningful conversation.

I love nature, creativity, movement and the kinds of honest conversations that help people feel less alone. I believe warmth and humor can exist alongside serious work—and that healing spaces do not need to feel cold or clinical to be intentional and safe.

Luke and I created Elmore Wellness from our shared experiences with athletics, concussions, personal transformation and natural medicine. Although we work together, we each bring a distinct presence to this work.

My approach is especially influenced by communication, emotional awareness, curiosity and the understanding that rebuilding trust with yourself can be one of the most meaningful parts of recovery.
